About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled M&E Cost Manager to join our team at Gleeds. As a key member of our construction projects team, you will be responsible for managing costs and budgets, providing expert advice to our clients, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives and driving growth across our activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring that their needs are met.
  • Deliver high-quality cost management services, including cost planning, cost-in-use studies, and procurement strategies.
  • Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Manage projects from early cost advice to settlement of the final account, ensuring that all costs are accurately accounted for.
  • Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
  • Produce and present reports to customers, providing clear and concise information on project progress and costs.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across our activities.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced M&E Cost Manager who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Sound cost management experience post MRICS qualification.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
