Rapiscan Systems, a leading provider of detection technology, is seeking a highly skilled Graduate Radiation Physicist to join our expanding Science and Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving forward our Research and Development Roadmap, focusing on system-level data capture, analysis, and performance tracking for High-Energy X-ray sources and detector assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicists, software, and electronics engineers to experimentally evaluate innovative designs and concepts, ensuring quick turnaround and fast-paced delivery.
- Support legacy programs and existing schemes of work, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Develop and maintain analytical models, utilizing tools such as Excel and Matlab, to analyze X-ray images and establish trends and correlations for various system-level configurations.
- Work closely with the software team to develop and deliver image enhancement tools and filters into the inspection suite, ensuring optimal image quality and performance.
- Take responsibility for the design of X-ray-based imaging systems for inspection of cargo and vehicles, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Undertake system-level design and underlying physics analysis, ensuring the development of cutting-edge imaging solutions.
- Graduate/Postgraduate experience in radiation physics with experimental background.
