Job Description

This LNG instructor position involves delivering training courses at our state-of-the-art Training Centre in Glasgow. You will provide technical guidance to the gas team, share best practices, and develop seafarer competencies. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and delivering instructional content for mandatory and non-mandatory courses using both classroom and simulator environments.
  2. Creating and updating training programs aligned with STCW, IMO model courses, industry guidelines, and new technologies on new builds.
  3. Evaluating student performance to monitor learning, assess instructional effectiveness, and verify competence for current or intended roles.
  4. Assisting in preparing and submitting course materials to accrediting authorities and ensuring course content remains up-to-date with the latest regulations and industry needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Class 1 Certificate of Competency (STCW II/2 Deck or Engine STCW III/2) and Tanker endorsement (Liquefied Gas).
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • The willingness to acquire instructor or teaching qualifications as required.
  • Significant experience at the management level (Master, Chief Officer, or Chief Engineer) onboard gas tankers, preferably including LNG.
