About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Critical Mission Solutions (CMS) business in Reading. This role will involve working on a £1bn engineering support contract for the AWE Non-Nuclear Engineering Partner (NNEP) framework, providing technical direction and coordination for senior and junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and coordination for senior and junior engineers
  • Specification of MV/LV Transformers and GI/GNI distribution systems
  • Input to mechanical / process / machine specifications from an electrical perspective
  • Production of electrical engineering deliverables, including calculations and reports
  • Guide designers in the production of electrical drawings
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation or Control Engineering
  • Extensive experience working in engineering design in the nuclear, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical handling or water industries
  • In-depth knowledge of British Standards and regulations applicable to electrical system design
  • Proficient in power modelling software (Trimble, SKM Powertools)
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements from other disciplines
