We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Research Scientist to join our team at Royal Derby Hospital. As a Band 4 scientist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, haematology, or transfusion science.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent) and previous experience working in a laboratory setting. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment are essential for this role.
Salary: £12 - £16 per hour
Working with us: As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with senior Biomedical Scientists and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Our trust operates multiple hospitals and clinics, providing a wide range of healthcare services across the Derbyshire region.
About the role:
- Process and analyse patient samples, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy in results.
- Assist in the preparation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and reagents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve laboratory objectives and maintain a safe working environment.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards and regulations.
