Primary School Teaching Assistant Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our primary school in Newcastle / North Tyneside. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and ready to take on a more advanced role supporting both teachers and students across various year groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lesson Planning and Delivery: Support teachers in planning engaging lessons across a range of subjects and lead classes independently when required.
  2. Individualized Support: Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs or requiring extra academic assistance.
  3. Differentiated Learning Materials: Help develop and implement differentiated learning materials and interventions to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  4. Progress Tracking: Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to track student progress and provide detailed feedback on their achievements and areas for development.
  5. Classroom Management: Assist in classroom management, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
  • A minimum HLTA qualification or significant experience working in a similar role within a school setting.
  • Proven experience supporting students in a primary school environment, with the ability to lead whole classes confidently.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to assist in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience brought to the role.
