Job Title: Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub Team Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Public Health team in Wiltshire, focusing on improving the health and wellbeing of our community.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the health and wellbeing of our community. As the Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering the operational direction of the Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub, working closely with the Public Health Principal/Consultant in Health Improvement to deliver the operational priorities.

You will be responsible for line management of 3-4 Public Health Practitioners Health Improvement Service Leads, who have line management responsibility for teams of Health Coaches. You will also have line management responsibility for the Senior Wellbeing Admin Assistant who has supervision responsibility for the other Wellbeing Admin Assistants in the team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide line management for the Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub, including approximately 4 Public Health Practitioners Health Improvement Service Leads, who in turn have their own team of direct reports.
  2. Develop and manage the implementation of the programme for Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub in Wiltshire, including designing and delivering the service plan and communication plan.
  3. Consult and communicate with a wide range of groups and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the services within the Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub.
  4. Lead on recruitment of new team members to the Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub.
  5. Lead on the Hub's training provision for the team, ensuring the service is set up to be a training centre and maintains its registration.
  6. Work closely with each Public Health Practitioner Health Improvement Service Lead to ensure high quality service delivery.
  7. Lead on the development and implementation of the WHIH new database.
  8. Lead on the quarterly reporting and development of annual reports of the service data.
  9. Ensure service specifications for the hub are up to date and relevant.
  10. To lead on the hub's team meetings, planning agendas, and leading development opportunities for staff in the team.
  11. To contribute to the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan Prevention agenda across BSW.
  12. To represent the Public Health Team and the council at agreed partnership events.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in public health, who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of our community. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A qualification relevant to Public Health or equivalent knowledge gained through experience and training.
  • Level 4 in management or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and values of the Wiltshire Health Improvement Hub.
  • Experience of local government or central government roles.
  • Proven experience of project management.
  • Experience of contract/performance management.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Proven ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience of leading or developing a new project/service/method of working.
  • Previous experience of staff management and recruitment.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office (including good working knowledge of Excel), Microsoft SharePoint and relevant ICT systems.
  • Previous experience of budgetary management and reporting.
  • A good understanding of issues facing Wiltshire's communities.
  • Experience of working with health inclusion groups.
