Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary school in Newport. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEN
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Support the teacher in managing classroom behavior and promoting positive relationships with pupils
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and progress tracking
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN
  • Ability to work one-to-one with pupils and provide individualized support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
