Job Description

Cleveland & Co is seeking a highly skilled Private Equity Lawyer to join our team in London Bridge. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global investment management services.

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Lawyer who is passionate about private equity and investment management. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in private equity, with a strong understanding of the entire fund cycle, including due diligence, fund launches, and industry standard practice and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our team to undertake varied legal work across private equity and investment management, including contracts, advice, and policies.
  • Provide commercial solutions to clients on a live basis, thinking differently and providing innovative solutions.
  • Support our team's and clients' success, being honest, driven, and committed to contributing to the team's and clients' success.
  • Be results-focused, accountable, and looking for a role that will support your development and progression in the industry.

Requirements

  • Law degree;
  • Current practising certificate;
  • At least 5 years' legal work experience in the jurisdiction you hold a practising certificate in private equity;
  • English language proficiency;
  • Independent, resourceful, and confident with great problem-solving skills;
  • Adept at building relationships internally and externally;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, business sense, and professionalism to communicate with all levels of management, staff, and clients located in different jurisdictions;
  • Proactive, able to take the initiative and anticipate the firm's and client's needs;
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of personality types and seniority levels;
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a history of pushing for deadline-driven results;
  • Ability to jump in and support the team when/where needed;
  • Lead and be one step ahead, constantly thinking about what needs to be done next to improve efficiency for the team and our clients;
  • Ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
  • Ability to work autonomously where required, meet deadlines, and handle queries from inside and outside the company;
  • Ability to commute to our offices in London Bridge as this is an in-office role with flexible working policy;
  • A mac laptop as we operate a BYOA policy to allow for maximum agility.
