Job Summary:

The Dorset Councils are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager and Caretaking Coordinator to join their team. As a key member of the facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the school site, including maintenance, repairs, and upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the security of the site as Principal Keyholder, including responding to out-of-hours emergency call-outs.
  • Oversee health and safety responsibilities for the site, including identifying and reducing risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Advise the Headteacher and senior staff on issues affecting the school site and potential development areas and opportunities.
  • Carry out statutory checks and testing, maintain records, and respond to issues as necessary.
  • Perform general porterage duties, including distributing deliveries, moving furniture, and setting up rooms.
  • Order and replenish hygiene supplies.
  • Undertake seasonal weather duties, such as gritting paths and car parks, clearing snow, and maintaining gutters and drains.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in site management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including split shifts.
