About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality endoscopy care in an accredited JAG Endoscopy unit
  • Undertake outpatient clinics and inpatient care on our dedicated Gastroenterology Ward
  • Support the delivery of high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of the Gastroenterology Unit
Requirements
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CCST/CESR in gastroenterology and GIM
  • High standard of clinical skill and expertise in the specialty
  • Ability to contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota for the specialty
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
  • Subspecialty interest
  • Therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Teaching experience or interest
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to lead and teach
  • Ability to relate to patients and relatives
  • Ability to work as part of a team
