Public Sector Vehicle Repair Professional

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic and Equipment Technician to join our team at VANRATH. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics. Our client is a large public body based in Dungannon, Northern Ireland.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing a diverse range of specialist vehicles, plant, and equipment within the client's fleet register. This includes conducting routine safety inspections, determining cause, and completing necessary repairs in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Additionally, the candidate will prepare vehicles for PSV tests and conduct pre-purchase inspections on vehicles to be purchased under the client's loan scheme.
Responsibilities:
* Inspect and service all assets within the client's fleet register
* Repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems
* Conduct routine technical inspections and preventative maintenance
* Complete any associated repairs in accordance with procedures
* Attend vehicle break downs, road traffic collisions, and emergency incidents
* Carry out 'Dynamic Risk Assessment' of the environment and coordinate appropriate response action
Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Studies
* Time served mechanic with 2 years' post apprenticeship experience or 2 years' experience working with 26 tonne refuse vehicles
* Possession of a current category 'C' driving licence
* At least 2 years' relevant experience in repairing grounds maintenance equipment, electrical repairs, and welding tasks
