Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Proactively identify stakeholders and work with them to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteria, estimate task durations, and ensure schedules and dependencies are aligned and support those objectives within an organization.
  • Project Management: Define, organize, and manage the activities that lead to the outcomes of a project, what, who, when, and how.
  • Progress Monitoring: Effectively monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigations.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Align stakeholders on decisions and changing circumstances.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Measure and publish program and process metrics to drive consensus in teams understanding of issues, and to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Leverage the Continuous Improvement approach including ability to identify and implement process improvements for the larger group or organization.
  • Best Practices: Seek out and apply relevant best practices from other processes and technologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Given a set of problem spaces, proactively identify and implement technical and business programs and processes in medium to large work groups, and drive ideas and solutions to address.
  • Project Organization: Organize ambiguous projects into clear longer-term (6+ months) objectives.
  • Team Management: Forge and maintain effective program teams within and across an organization, understanding and addressing their needs and health, and supporting them throughout their lifecycles.
  • Integration and Alignment: Guide team alignment on the integration of the timelines, goals, and deliverables of related projects and teams.
  • Escalation Management: Manage escalations and unblock constraints and dependencies.
  • Planning and Execution: Possess advanced planning and project management skills and break down programs and processes into components that could be executed by junior team members.
  • Methodology and Communication: Leverage best methodology for each team (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to make teams most effective.
  • Communication and Representation: Demonstrate advanced communication management skills, including writing and presentations, and represent the programs from business, product, and technical perspectives.
  • Domain Knowledge: Exhibit advanced relevant domain knowledge required to perform job (e.g., Networking Protocols, Payments Infrastructure, OS Ecosystem, Release Management, Cloud Computing).
  • Technical Understanding: Demonstrate technical understanding to the degree required and be comfortable working with engineers and with technology.
