Clinical Psychologist for Young Onset Dementia and Memory Services
4 weeks ago
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Young Onset Dementia and Memory Team services at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work in a well-established and highly motivated Older Adult Speciality, providing services into various physical and mental health settings. The successful post-holder will contribute to all parts of the dementia pathway, including neuropsychological assessments, post-diagnostic psychological therapy, and supporting care partners.
As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, as well as people living with dementia and their care partners. Our team values reflective practice, learning from one another, and good links exist with the local DClinPsy training course.
We offer excellent opportunities for professional development, consultation, and supervision. You will be encouraged and supported to join local and national networks of psychology practitioners working with older people and dementia networks. A range of psychological models are valued and welcomed, including CBT, third-wave approaches, Narrative Therapy, and Open Dialogue.
In addition to direct clinical work, there will be opportunities for staff and MDT consultation and supervision, innovation, service/systems improvement work, staff skills training, research, and audit. Full clinical and management professional support and supervision will be available, and we support and encourage research and audit opportunities.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £45,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience. We are looking for a practitioner who can further add to our skills mix, contribute to our active programme of service development, and help us achieve our mission of "Living Well, Caring Well, Working Together". If you are a driven and compassionate individual with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
