At Two Saints, we are seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Worker to join our team in Hampshire Social Inclusion Winchester. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a passion for working with individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The successful candidate will have a caseload of clients to manage, working with them on a one-to-one basis to identify their needs and develop a client needs assessment. They will also be responsible for carrying out housing management duties, such as collecting service charges and ensuring clients comply with their tenancy obligations.

The role involves mediating and negotiating with existing housing providers to prevent homelessness, as well as providing advice on housing, welfare benefits, rent deposits, and household goods. The Homeless Support Worker will also help clients with the practicalities of moving to new accommodation, such as contacting energy suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of clients and working with them on a one-to-one basis
  • Carrying out housing management duties, including collecting service charges and ensuring clients comply with their tenancy obligations
  • Mediating and negotiating with existing housing providers to prevent homelessness
  • Providing advice on housing, welfare benefits, rent deposits, and household goods
  • Helping clients with the practicalities of moving to new accommodation

The ideal candidate will have a clear verbal and written English, good IT and keyboard skills, and a polite, assertive manner. They will also have a passion for working in a client/customer-facing role and knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation.
