Transforming Technology Risk at Barclays

As a Senior Risk and Control Analyst at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in our transformational journey to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal controls framework, technology, and cyber standards.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Practical knowledge of Technology risk and control, including the ability to identify key stakeholders and work collaboratively with them to deliver regulated risk, control, and change requirements.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the business area in which the job operates and the ability to apply these to day-to-day activities.
  • Experience in risk-based Technology auditing or risk/control activities within a Technology environment.
  • Collaboration across the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment through the execution of ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of the internal controls, aligned to control policies and standards.
  • Development of detailed test plans and procedures to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned to the bank's control framework to mitigate any potential risks and issues, prioritized by their severity to disrupt bank operations, potential losses, and reputational impact.
  • Communication of key findings and observations to the relevant stakeholders and business units to improve overall control efficiency and provide corrective actions to senior managers.
  • Ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Collaboration with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
