Main Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Trust's chosen Business Intelligence and dashboard reporting solution.

They will support the Business Intelligence Manager with the delivery of a self-service approach to information, developing reports and dashboards, and managing the Trust's data warehouse, including training end users on the self-service portal.

The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead will manage a small team of developers (BI, Robotic Process Automation, and SharePoint) to prioritize competing and challenging work streams, helping the BI team and wider Trust deliver analytical and automated processing goals.

They will work with the wider business intelligence team to embed development and automation within the analysts' daily life, advising them in the full development life cycle from requirement stages through to implementation.

The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead will be key in the delivery of a Business Intelligence Service by providing high-quality, accurate, and timely intelligence to meet the Trust's business, clinical, and operational planning needs and supports the strategic objectives of the Trust.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of NHS performance targets and timescales.
  • Experience and advanced knowledge in the use of SQL Server (including SSIS and SSRS).
  • Experience of MS SharePoint platform.
  • Highly developed knowledge in Microsoft Office skills and MS operating systems.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence dashboard/reporting, and design.
  • Experience of SharePoint Development.
  • Experience of Microsoft Power Platform.
Requirements
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant technical discipline or relevant equivalent experience, supported by specialist training and relevant study.
  • Evidence of relevant continued professional development in specialist informatics area.
  • Informatics related courses and qualifications.
