**Job Description:**

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Software Architect to join our team at Lucy Zodion. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining our firmware base code using industry-standard coding methodologies.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about embedded systems and wants to work on innovative products that assist customers with energizing urban and highways infrastructure from the ground up.

The role involves:

  • Developing, testing, and validating firmware for our range of products including photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeder pillars, isolators, cut-outs, and switchgear.
  • Liaising with external collaborators and 3rd party suppliers, requiring commercial sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with test requirements for product and production validation.

**Key Accountabilities:

You will be the driving force behind Embedded development in a refresh of our product range using new technologies and designs to combat evolving complexities around cost, sustainability, and energy conservation facing our streetlighting customers.

The key deliverables include:

  • The quality, robustness, and efficiency of embedded firmware.
  • Integration with test requirements for product and production validation.

**Requirements and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A significant experience of embedded C firmware development, preferably with experience of converting design briefs into final solutions.
  • Proven experience of RTOS development.
  • Ideal qualifications in software engineering.
  • Experience of IoT / Connected technology.
  • Working in an environment utilising modern development tools such as Git, JIRA.

**Desirable Skills:

The ideal candidate will also have experience in:

  • Development of automated test equipment for firmware validation.
  • Understanding of Radio Technology.
  • Cloud-based development.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders and balance conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to offer concerns to the project team from the offset.
  • Accurate and concise report writing skills.

**Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is between £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
