Job Description

Company Overview:

NHS England is launching a national lung cancer screening programme to detect the disease early in areas with high prevalence. The programme involves inviting at-risk patients for a risk assessment followed by a low-dose CT scan.

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist and Data Protection Officer to join our dedicated team in delivering this programme effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of data associated with the programme's delivery and monitoring, including pulling relevant data from primary care, cleansing, uploading into the service Patient Administration System, and producing reports.
  • Develop the integration of data with other IT systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead on investigations into causes of data variances and contribute to implementing solutions.
  • Support the service planning process and review performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and managing data.
  • Good understanding of data protection legislation.
  • Previous experience dealing with confidential data.
  • Excellent computing/IT skills with aptitude for data handling.
  • The ability to present data to a wide audience effectively.
