About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Elysium Healthcare, a leading provider of specialist nursing and therapy services. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to our service users, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring a consistently high standard of food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation, adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare, plan, and cook meals to meet the dietary needs of our service users, staff, and visitors.
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner, promoting a positive dining experience.
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food costing, and ordering, ensuring efficient stock control and budget management.
  • Participate in food safety and hygiene practices, adhering to the 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record-keeping requirements.
  • Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of new menus, ensuring dishes meet the highest standards of quality and adhere to healthy eating guidelines.

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • GCSE equivalent English
  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
  • Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • Previous experience in delivering a service on mass
  • Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget experience
