We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Carers Support Officer to join our team at the Bath and North East Somerset Carers Centre. The successful candidate will support young carers through every stage of their journey with us, from registration through to wellbeing activities, assessments, and follow-up support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide holistic needs assessments to identify the needs of young carers and develop tailored support plans.
- Organise and deliver wellbeing activities to promote young carer resilience and wellbeing.
- Work in partnership with our Digital Team to develop innovative ways to engage young carers in our support services.
- Collaborate with our Participation Team to ensure the voices of young carers are heard and represented in our decision-making processes.
- Oversee volunteers involved in the delivery of our services and provide guidance and support as needed.
We are looking for an experienced and skilled professional who has a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young carers. You will have experience of working in similar roles supporting children and young people in both one-to-one and group settings.
About UsThe Carers' Centre is a local independent charity dedicated to supporting unpaid carers of all ages. We provide trusted information, advice, and support to enable carers to maintain or improve their health and wellbeing, stay in control of their caring role, and get connected with others in a similar situation.
Requirements- Experience of working with young carers and their families.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young carers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
