About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Rosevale Lodge Care Home. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, providing high-quality meals and dining experiences for our residents.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment, with a good standard of both verbal and written English. They will also have a good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, as well as previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for, delivering meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit, and assisting with the basic preparation of food items. You will also be responsible for ensuring all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas is completed and complies with our Assured Safe Catering standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
  • Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers and maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
  • Undertakes any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.
