About the Role
Lloyd's Register is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individual IT, Digital, Telecommunication, and related technology category procurement strategies, aligned with digital transformation plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, managing, and executing new IT procurement category plans and project plans for individual initiatives, evaluating processes, and identifying risks and issues to ensure contracts are delivered on time and within budget, with improved benefits and savings.
- Conducting profound research into the IT spend category and identifying how savings and sustainable margin improvement can be created.
- Establishing and managing suppliers' commercial bid process, negotiating terms and conditions, assessing risks, and implementing suitable strategies to mitigate exposure.
- Leading sourcing projects, both strategic and tactical, including but not limited to requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and other commercial information required.
- Developing solid relationships with internal stakeholders and key decision-makers to influence behaviours and ensure the appropriate and timely involvement of Procurement in all sourcing activities.
Requirements
- Min 5+ years of experience in an IT Procurement related role with competence and a proven ability to build and execute category strategies.
- Ability to structure RFPs, execute and evaluate RFPs against a broad set of evaluation criteria and provide recommendations for vendor selection.
- Successful track record of delivering significant cost savings and broader commercial benefits throughout the deal-making process.
- Product knowledge including Hardware, Software, Storage, Telecoms, Professional Services, and Maintenance.
- Holds a Professional Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or working towards a business degree or equivalent.
