Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Languages department and develop this dynamic and strong department to maintain the high academic expectations of our school and to contribute significantly to our community.

About the Role

The Languages Department at Sydenham High is a dynamic and strong department comprising a mixture of full-time and part-time members of staff, some of whom have other responsibilities in the school. In a selective school, it is a pleasure to stimulate and inspire the students' bright and alert minds, and Languages is a popular subject.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive language curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Lead and manage a team of language teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum
  • Develop and maintain relationships with language experts and organizations to ensure the department remains at the forefront of language teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a language teaching environment
  • Strong knowledge of language teaching and learning methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students at all levels
