Join Our Team as a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner. As part of our Mind Mate Support Team, you will play a vital role in improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in education settings across Leeds.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will include the completion of a Health Education England (HEE) funded training course at the University of Sheffield. You will work closely with our team to support the assessment of children and young people, and implement programmes of care to ensure they receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the assessment of children and young people, and implement programmes of care to ensure they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge.
  • Work within SOPs and pathways in which they have received training to be competent.
  • Develop knowledge and practice skills in delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Help children and young people within the settings who present with more severe problems to access more specialist services.
  • Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work with education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.
