Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Strategist to join our UK Transport Business as a Bid Modeller / Commercial Manager.
This role offers a great opportunity for a commercial professional to develop their skills and experience working on a wide variety of bids including frameworks and major design projects across multiple transport teams.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have strong experience of bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector, with a proven track record of delivering commercial strategies that drive success.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks, working closely with the Bid Director and Bid Manager.
Your primary focus will be to implement these winning strategies into financial models, taking account of project risks and company commercial expectations.
In addition, you will work alongside the Bid Director to present these commercial strategies through the organisation's governance process, helping gain approval from senior stakeholders.
Working with the Commercial Director, you will help manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase.
You will also work with project managers and directors during the project delivery phase to help manage commercial risk and opportunities at a project level.
Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as and when the need arises.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Strong experience of bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector;
- Experience of bidding for engineering design services on design and build projects as the contractor's designer;
- A strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract, particularly being comfortable working with contracts that include the NEC Schedule of Cost Components;
- Experience of working in a finance-related role (preferred but not essential);
- Experience supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects either as a project manager or in a previous commercial role.
This role offers a competitive salary range of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
