Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lenders Insurance Advisory Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Project Finance team, you will provide lenders insurance advisory services to financial institutions involved in structured finance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultancy advice on insurance requirements for the project through all phases of the loan (construction, operating etc.)
  • Assess and advise clients on insurance requirements and applicable terms and conditions from a lender's perspective.
  • Assess and advise on local and reinsurance requirements and implications of regulatory restrictions on the lenders.
  • Advise on commercial availability of insurance and implications on loan requirements.
  • Assist in drafting and negotiation of the insurance provisions in loan agreements.
  • Review and comment on risk allocation and insurance provisions, operating and maintaining contracts, purchase, proposals, and finished product sales contracts.
  • Audit and advice on compliance of loan agreement adherence as regards insurance procured by borrowers.
  • Advise parties on any compliance issues with loan agreement, and support lenders to resolution.
  • Draft reports to lenders on compliance, confirmation of applicability of coverage and deviations from loan agreement.
  • Communicate with lenders, sponsors, brokers, lawyers and technical consultants on risk and insurance related issues.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years working experience within the insurance industry or in project finance in a law firm or finance institution with professional qualifications and/or a degree
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong relationship building skills Strong technical insurance background, understanding roles and operation of the international (re)insurance markets.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, particularly in analysis and review of contract and insurance provisions. Strong organisational skills to manage workflows, collate information and track progress.
  • Strong communicational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and with flexibility to meet client needs.
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is desirable, although not essential.

We would particularly welcome applications from experienced insurance brokers, with high value project experience from power, energy, infrastructure, utilities or other relevant sectors. You may have gained your previous experience as a Project Finance Consultant.
