As a Land Development Leader at Pell Frischmann, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of our South West England team, focusing on transport planning and highway design services. You will work closely with the Technical Director to develop project delivery strategies, manage teams, and enhance skills through ongoing Learning and Development programs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong connections with associated consultants, particularly town planners and architects, and demonstrate the ability to generate new opportunities and revenue streams.

Pell Frischmann values flexibility and offers hybrid working arrangements. Our office bases are located in Swindon and Exeter, allowing for convenient location options.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To lead projects across a wide range of transport planning and / or highway design areas including site feasibility, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and site access design including S38 / S278.
  • Be responsible for delivering high quality technical work and developing staff skills through project delivery.
  • To identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Manage and develop the team reporting to them
  • Prepare strategic reports, transport solutions, and implement Traffic and Transport methodologies
  • Liaise with clients and local / national authorities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation in working practices

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of Transport Planning experience
  • Demonstrable track record in winning and delivering projects
  • A proven ability to build client relationships
  • Experience in highway / junction design at least at the concept and preliminary design level
  • Experience of working with public and private sector clients
  • Experience in delivering a range of projects across different land uses and scales.
  • Develop and manage a team of skilled individuals
  • Efficient communication skills, excellent level of written and spoken English
