Materials Scientist

Role Overview

The Undergraduate Industrial Placement Materials Scientist role at Viatris offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a working laboratory environment. As a member of the Global Respiratory Group, you will contribute to the development of respiratory medicines and apply your skills in analytical chemistry to drive scientific understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute experiments to generate scientific understanding in development of analytical methods, formulations, and processes.
• Perform analyses related to clinical supplies, stability, and process scale up.
• Process data: highlight aberrant or suspect results and work with supervisor to investigate.
• Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with good documentation practices.
• Contribute to project delivery by carrying out other tasks as required.

Requirements

• Must be registered on an undergraduate chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences related degree program.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of study and must not have graduated at the start of the placement.
• Must be familiar with the basic principles of analytical chemistry.
• Must possess good IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Must be able to organise tasks allocated by supervisor and plan own work to consistently achieve output of high-quality results in a timely manner.
