The role of a Product Development Specialist is a vital part of our team at BMR Solutions Ltd, where we are looking for an experienced professional to lead the development process.

We are seeking a skilled engineer with expertise in product development methodologies, including design, validation, and manufacturing transition. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations.

About the Role:

  • Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Carry out risk assessments as required during project execution.
  • Support the introduction of new products into our product range.
  • Type testing and compliance testing of designs, including design of experiments.
  • Design and develop mechanical aspects of our product range and participate in design reviews.
  • Evaluate technical risks and escalate them to the senior development engineer.
  • Perform engineering calculations and undertake medium to complex Finite Element Analyses (FEA) in support of the design.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 2:2 Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience with other engineering qualifications.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design concepts, system testing, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in product development methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and manufacturing transition.
  • Experience with system characterization, testing, and failure analysis techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Influencing, communication, presentation, and negotiating skills, both internally and externally.

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, plus bonus, 25 days holiday, bank holidays, life assurance, and pension.
