Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering in Ipswich. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading process improvements and applying lean manufacturing techniques to enhance product quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration of parts and products into production.
  • Maintain safety, quality, production, and cost standards.
  • Provide essential weld support, including process development, tooling, and documentation.
  • Offer laser and press support, including process development and tooling support.
  • Support other primary areas, such as form tooling, tube bending, and machining fixtures.
  • Manage new machinery specifications and implementation to support growth plans.
  • Handle primary area change notes, set standard times and routings, and review for Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures where necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and engage in continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in weld support and laser and press support.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, and Quality Control Techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems, Siemens NX preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Good understanding of ISO and OHSAS requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-focused.
  • Versatile and self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision.
