Pioneer Wound Healing & Lymphoedema Centres is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tissue Viability Nurse Consultant to join our team. As a clinical leader and advanced practitioner, you will be responsible for the leadership and effective delivery of patient care for tissue viability and lymphoedema.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
Provide professional leadership and demonstration of competent advanced practice in tissue viability, acting as the lead clinician who supervises staff. Assess, plan, implement, oversee, and evaluate programmes of care and advanced skills.
Respect people's dignity, wishes, and beliefs; involve them in shared decision-making and obtain their consent before undertaking procedures.
Promote a patient-focused multidisciplinary approach to care in collaboration with colleagues, carers, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.
Communication and Core Dimension
Use communication skills to convey complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers, and other staff, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events.
Maintain professional boundaries and working relationships with patients and colleagues.
Act as a patient/staff advocate through the application of ethical, legal, and professional knowledge and skills.
Person and People Development
Develop staff within a defined group via coaching and mentoring. Undertake talent management of clinicians/Healthcare support workers through recruitment, engagement, staff development, and performance management.
Ensure that all staff attend organisation/local orientation programmes, mandatory training sessions, and annual updates.
Health, Safety, and Security
Maintain an open and transparent safety culture by embracing and embedding Freedom to Speak up Principles.
Take responsibility for promoting a safe environment and safe patient care by identifying areas of risk and following the Incident, Serious Incidents, and Near Misses reporting policy and procedure.
Service Improvement
Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of nursing practice, standards, guidelines, protocols, policies, and care pathways.
Instrumental in the setting and monitoring of measurable standards of care and be accountable for maintaining standards.
Promote and deliver nursing/clinical practice and care delivery in line with relevant current validated research evidence, best practice when available, and with reference to Pioneer policies and guidelines.
Quality
Promote a happy and supportive environment for staff.
Maintain own and others' awareness of national, professional, and local quality issues relevant to the delivery of nursing services.
Monitor and audit standards of all care within all clinical settings as agreed with the Clinical Management Team.
Provide monthly reports to the Senior Management Team.
Ensure standards of clinical practice, record-keeping, and reporting are of a required standard and any issues identified are escalated expediently.

Undertake appraisal of designated staff, addressing personal development plans (PDP) and monitoring/managing performance.
Contribute to directorate/divisional management processes by being a member of the Clinical Leadership Team.
Safeguarding: Provision of Care to Meet Health and Wellbeing Needs
All staff must be familiar with, and adhere to, Pioneer child and adult protection procedures and guidelines, in conjunction with the Local Safeguarding children's board (LSCB) and Adults safeguarding board (ASB) policies and procedures.
Ensure that all clinical staff are familiar with their role and responsibility around safeguarding children and adults and to ensure that they have completed training at a level commensurate to their role.
Records and reports the interventions consistent with legislation and relevant policies and procedures.
