About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see you take on the role of Apprentice Sports Coach at Riverside Training, where you will have the chance to develop your coaching skills through hands-on experience and formal training.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the planning and delivery of structured sports coaching sessions, working closely with experienced coaches to tailor programmes to different age groups and abilities.
  2. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for young athletes, helping them develop essential life skills such as teamwork and communication.
  3. Support the coordination and running of match days, ensuring all necessary preparations are made and games are conducted smoothly.
  4. Observe and provide constructive feedback to players during practice and games, under the supervision of senior coaches.
What You'll Learn:
  • Gain practical experience in sports coaching, developing your skills and knowledge under the guidance of qualified coaches.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of different sports rules and fundamentals.
  • Improve your ability to communicate effectively with players, parents, and school representatives.
Requirements:
  • A genuine passion for sports, with some experience playing or volunteering in sports.
  • Willingness to undertake a formal coaching qualification, provided as part of the apprenticeship.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary for this role is approximately £7,936 per annum (pro-rata), based on 30 hours per week, including 6 hours per week attending sessions for the apprenticeship with Riverside Training.
