Main Responsibilities- You will participate in pre-operative assessments, post-operative interventions, and seating assessments for children undergoing complex orthopaedic surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Liaison with children's local services is crucial to ensure continuity of care and safe discharge, requiring expert communication skills.
You will join our large and well-supported Occupational Therapy department, which comprises 35 Occupational Therapists and support staff. We offer a flexible and robust supervision process, regular in-service training opportunities, and training from other specialists within the hospital and externally.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work within our acute orthopaedic and spinal team, providing occupational therapy to address occupational performance difficulties resulting from disability or trauma.
Person Specification- A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy and Health & Care Professions Council registration are essential.
- Post-graduate experience working in orthopaedics with children and young people, as well as excellent understanding of orthopaedic paediatric conditions and therapeutic interventions, are also required.
- Previous experience of assessing for and providing equipment for daily living, including specialist seating, wheelchairs, and manual handling equipment, is necessary.
We offer a competitive salary of approximately £43,041 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
