About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Literacy and Inclusion Support Specialist to join our Prison Education team at HMP Wayland. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with neurodiverse and inclusion needs.

About the Team

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of learners, carrying out initial screening activity and developing Individual Learning Support plans.
  • Promote an effective and inclusive learning environment, providing support to learners in a classroom or workshop setting and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Collaborate with our Prison Education team to deliver high-quality support services to learners.
Requirements
  • Minimum level 2 English qualification.
  • QTS qualification.
  • Experience of working with adult learners, particularly those with neurodiverse needs.
  • Phonics approach experience.
  • Ability to work within a secure unit environment.

  • An estimated salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, based on experience.
