Campus Safety Specialist

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year
This role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of University community members, safeguarding property, and enforcing university policies. Emphasis is on responding to calls for service and fostering good community relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to reports of irregularities, inspect premises for security risks, and coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services.
- Assist with University events, manage crowds, and coordinate with other emergency services during critical incidents.
- Perform tasks in a customer service or security related field, interacting professionally with the public.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, and experience in customer service or security.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, handle difficult situations, and communicate effectively with the university community and colleagues.
- Must pass a criminal background check, including PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education, law enforcement, or public safety.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to walk for extended periods, walk up and down steps, and lift objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
