About the Role

The ICT Director will be responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching and learning in computing, as outlined in the curriculum, and in line with departmental and school policies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote excellence in teaching and learning to ensure all pupils reach their full potential and are prepared for life beyond school by achieving strong examination results.
  • Demonstrate the skills of effective teaching and learning in practice, exemplifying the professional standards.
  • Actively promote interest in computing beyond the classroom, both inside and outside of scheduled lessons.
  • Encourage pupils' interest in the subject area by actively promoting the department within the school community.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's policies, practices, and procedures, supporting the school's values and vision.
  • Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school by supporting and leading curricular and extracurricular activities, such as school productions, activity days, and language clubs.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This exceptional school serves 200 profoundly deaf children at its residential facility, taking pride in its pupils' achievements at GCSE, A Level, as well as in BTEC and Vocational Courses.
