We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join our dedicated staff at Wayman Learning Trust in Dorking. This full-time permanent position commences in January and offers the chance to inspire creativity and technical skills in young minds.

As a key member of our educational team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive and engaging Design & Technology curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will have the opportunity to foster a passion for design innovation and practical skills in students, equipping them with essential knowledge and capabilities for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's educational aims.
  • Creativity and Interaction: Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse needs and abilities.
  • Learning Environment: Maintain a well-organized and safe learning environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to enhance the Design & Technology curriculum and contribute to extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Shows ability to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative and a creative approach to teaching.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: A salary commensurate with experience and qualifications based on the Main Pay Scale (MPS), estimated to be around £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
