The Power of Friendship: Become a Volunteer Befriender

Hertfordshire Independent Visitor Service invites you to join our team as a volunteer befriender. This is an extraordinary opportunity to form meaningful connections with young people and contribute to their growth and development.

We offer flexible scheduling, allowing you to choose when and how often you meet with your assigned young person. Commitments range from 1-4 hours per month, ensuring a manageable workload for all parties involved.

Our program focuses on empowering young people through positive relationships, self-expression, and trust-building experiences. As a befriender, you will play a critical role in fostering these essential skills and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a supportive relationship with a young person
  • Promote positive relationships, self-esteem building, and social skills development
Requirements:
  • Able to commit to regular meetings with a young person (1-4 hours per month)
  • Exemplify a positive role model for a teenager
Employment Details:
  • Monthly compensation: £30.00
  • Ongoing training and support available
