Financial Support Coordinator

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to provide temporary support for their finance team. The successful candidate will work on a 6-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension.
Rate of Pay: £12.18 - £15.29 per Hour
Key Responsibilities:
- To perform specific finance and clerical tasks while adhering to confidentiality and safeguarding protocols.
- To review and process purchase orders and invoices, ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations and departmental procedures.
- To resolve queries from suppliers, service users, external agencies, and staff regarding this role.
- To manage payments to and recover overpayments from carers using bespoke IT software.
- To conduct financial assessments for carers meeting eligibility criteria for specific allowances.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ2 or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Financial Regulations and Accountancy processes, including VAT.
Experience and Competencies:
- Experience working in a busy environment with strict deadlines.
- Background in finance, with experience using systems like accounts payable.
- Data input and management expertise, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality where necessary.
- Proficiency in IT and common business tools, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Effective communication skills for providing information to the public or customers.
- Able to work within defined business processes and provide guidance to colleagues.
