Teaching Assistant - Canterbury Area

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Canterbury area. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in a dynamic and supportive primary or secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities to support student learning
  • Lead small groups and individual interventions to help students achieve their potential
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all students are supported
  • Work with students who have special educational needs (SEN) and adapt learning plans accordingly
  • Take responsibility for managing behaviour in the classroom and creating a positive learning environment
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and help with assessments
Requirements:
  • Level 5 CACHE qualification or above, or extensive experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Proven experience in a school environment, ideally across primary and/or secondary settings
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students
  • A passion for education and helping young people succeed
  • Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable
