Why this role?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-owned business and contribute to the delivery of our sustainability strategy and client requirements on projects within the London Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement our Environmental Management System (EMS) on projects from tender stage, working closely with the Regional Sustainability Manager.
  • Ensure that procurement documentation reflects the project sustainability requirements.
  • Conduct regular site surveillances and audits to ensure compliance with legislation and project sustainability requirements.
  • Manage projects to reduce carbon emissions and waste, and ensure that goods and services are ethically procured.
  • Ensure each project understands their Client's sustainability requirements, including delivery of environmental assessments.
  • Report project performance against Build Sure and client requirements, in line with company reporting requirements.
  • Review project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes.
  • Communicate our sustainability strategy and achievements to the wider staff base.
  • Identify and communicate best practice across the business unit.
  • Deliver training on environmental management and sustainability for project staff and supply chain.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a construction environmental or sustainability role.
  • Qualifications or strong knowledge of environmental assessment methods (BREEAM, LEED, HQM, etc.).
  • Technical review, advising, and managing delivery of improved sustainability performance and environmental assessments.
  • Managing delivery of company and client sustainability requirements from preconstruction to practical completion.
