About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at SGN. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring community safety by leading gas network projects from planning to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake project delivery from concept to commissioning and records completion
  • Plan projects, obtain consents, and programme
  • Manage and deliver feasibility studies and conceptual designs
  • Technically coordinate and develop detailed designs
  • Support procurement activities to ensure compliance with regulations and programme requirements
  • Supervise and monitor construction activities on site
  • Ensure compliance with strict health, safety, environment, and quality procedures
  • Commission all aspects of gas network construction projects
  • Manage projects to meet programme and budget constraints
  • Coordinate project-related activities and interface with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage project documentation and drawings
  • Implement the SGN safety culture throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects comply with SGN and/or industry policies and procedures
Requirements
  • A recognised engineering qualification and experience of working in an engineering, construction or gas/petro-chemical environment
  • Construction and/or project management experience working on UK Gas distribution/transmission networks is desirable
  • Educated to degree or HNC/D level in mechanical/civil engineering or a similar related discipline
  • Computer literacy, experience of general Microsoft Office software, CAD and engineering-related applications
  • Ability to read, review, understand and also create/compile technical reports
  • Strong communication and influencing skills are essential to this role
  • Successful applicant must have a valid UK driver's licence
