Maintenance Technician Job Description

At Tradebe, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our site maintenance function.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage day-to-day, weekly, and monthly site maintenance activities, including supervising site and contractor staff.
  • Liaise with operations staff to ensure a high level of service and maintain compliance with legislation and company-imposed compliances.
  • Assess plant defects, specify remedial action, and propose modifications to maintain plant reliability and availability.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance systems, including Stores Systems, Management Systems, and H&S procedures.
  • Plan and supervise planned maintenance outages, including shutdowns, and ensure quality control and coordination between all parties involved.
  • Work within approved budgets and ensure that maintenance efforts are responsive to the overall needs of the business.
  • Ensure timely completion of fault reporting and filing of reports.
  • Maintain critical spares stock levels and conduct regular stock checks.
  • Carry out hazard and risk assessments for routine and defect maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Quality and Environmental Management System and Health and Safety.
  • Advise management of any safety concerns.

Requirements:

  • Able to attend site 'out of hours' to respond to breakdown or emergency situations.
  • Capability to Arc and/or MiG weld.
  • Enthusiastic and competent problem solver with a practical approach to engineering problems.
  • PC literate and capable of learning new software systems.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to cope with numerous issues simultaneously.

Desirable Skills:

  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • FLT License.
  • MEWP Licenses.
