Phonics Support Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students develop phonics skills, including sound recognition, blending, and segmenting.
  • Assist teachers in delivering structured and engaging phonics lessons.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress in phonics, offering feedback and adjusting support strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters confidence and enthusiasm for reading and writing.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and integrated phonics instruction across the curriculum.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A solid understanding of phonics and early literacy development.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or early childhood development are desirable.
