Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to join our commercial, technical, financial, and legal teams as a senior regulatory lawyer. Your primary focus will be on providing legal support across the business, with a concentration on offering regulatory advice related to:

  • development and construction projects in the UK and Ireland
  • acquisition of suitable assets / development opportunities on the secondary market
  • operation and optimisation of existing fleet of assets

Your responsibilities will include:

  • advising project and execution teams on regulatory issues arising through the lifecycle of renewable and conventional energy projects, including licensing, consent, and derogation applications;
  • assessing regulatory requirements and implications of commercial, planning, and finance agreements with international counterparties;
  • providing legal, regulatory, procurement, and commercial support to operational gas and biomass assets;
  • advising on acquisition of renewable and conventional energy assets, businesses, and development opportunities;
  • You will work closely with senior team members but are expected to manage your workload independently, liaising with leaders and stakeholders as needed.

Suitable candidates should have at least 4+ years post-qualification experience and strong regulatory expertise in the power and infrastructure sectors. Previous in-house experience would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of early-stage dispute management in a public law and regulatory context.
