We are seeking a highly skilled Associate to join our prestigious Funds practice at Jameson Legal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund formation, including international private equity and other private investment funds and their sponsors.
The team assists a broad range of clients with fund formation, including buyout, infrastructure, energy, credit, real estate, secondaries, and venture funds, as well as funds of funds.
This highly ranked team has an unparalleled understanding of the private fund industry. With a global regulatory network and deep international experience, the practice counsels across the entire life cycle of these complex products and vehicles – covering organization and economic arrangements for sponsors, fund formation, downstream transactions, exits, firm and fund restructurings, buy-side work, secondaries, and wind downs.
The practice is at the forefront of the marketplace and responds quickly to, and even anticipates changes in, the market, offering clients a significant competitive advantage. The team is now looking for an additional mid-level Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative environment.
To be considered for this role, you will probably have:
- A strong academic background and 2-4 years' relevant post-qualification experience gained from within the funds team of a Magic Circle, Silver Circle, international, or peer US firm.
- A high degree of sector knowledge and commercial awareness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and drafting skills.
- A self-confident, proactive, pragmatic approach to tasks and projects.
- Enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
- The ability to work well in both a team and individually, and to interact/build relationships with people at all levels.
