Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Norse Group. As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in driving and delivering works across the discipline, holding responsibility for the technical and commercial management of major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client needs, define project technical specifications, manage costs, fees, and commercial requirements to ensure projects are delivered to client satisfaction.
  • Assist the relevant department Director in managing engineering resources and client needs.
  • Lead major projects, ensuring they are delivered to specification.
  • Prepare designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and carry out risk assessments for improvement, refurbishment, and new building schemes.
  • Prepare schedules of dilapidations, improvement schemes, drawings, and specifications, structural surveys, and insurance reinstatement schemes.
  • Respond to emergency requests for action or advice regarding dangerous buildings.
  • Provide advice to clients in respect of construction and refurbishment projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an Structural Engineering related discipline.
  • Professional membership of the Institute of Structural Engineers and be working or prepared to work towards Chartered status.
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain.
  • Conversant with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with relevant construction, health, and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos.
