Join Our Team as a Catchment Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Catchment Officer to lead our work in two catchments across the south east of England. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to improve river health and biodiversity.

About the Role

As a Catchment Officer, you will work closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, landowners, and community groups, to develop and implement catchment plans. You will also be responsible for leading and chairing local Catchment Partnerships, which will involve working with a range of partners to identify and address key issues affecting river health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement catchment plans to improve river health and biodiversity
  • Lead and chair local Catchment Partnerships to identify and address key issues affecting river health
  • Work with local stakeholders to develop and implement programs to improve river health and biodiversity
  • Conduct fieldwork and data collection to inform catchment planning and decision-making
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including farmers, landowners, and community groups
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in environmental science or a related field. You will have a proven track record of working with local stakeholders to develop and implement environmental projects, and a strong understanding of catchment hydrology and ecology.

You will also have excellent communication and project management skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. A degree in environmental science or a related field is required, and a postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
