The Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our R&D team as an R&D Technologist. Working under the guidance of the Research and Development Manager, the successful candidate will develop innovative ingredient formulations and recipes that meet customer requirements. Collaborating with the Sales, Culinary, and Marketing teams, you will contribute to driving business growth and ensuring timely project delivery.

Main Responsibilities

1. Create innovative and effective ingredient formulas and recipes that cater to customer preferences and comply with relevant standards.
2. Maintain close liaison with internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Marketing, Culinary, and Legislation departments.
3. Build strong relationships with customers, both internal and external.
4. Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical support at customer sites.
5. Modify formulations, recipes, and manufacturing conditions to align with plant capabilities and customer specifications.
6. Demonstrate expertise in operating NWF testing equipment and pilot plant facilities.
7. Familiarize yourself with NWF manufacturing processes and customer production limitations.
8. Conduct trials in the pilot plant and provide technical assistance at customer locations.

Administrative Tasks

1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
2. Ensure all administrative tasks within CQL, Purchasing, and Customer Service are completed efficiently.
3. Keep the lab and office organized and tidy.
4. Perform literature reviews to keep NWF resources and team members informed.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. A degree in Food Science or a related field is essential.
2. Prior experience in a similar role or industry is preferred.
3. A full, clean driving license is required.
4. Ability to travel extensively within the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and USA.

Work Environment and Compensation

This is a full-time position based at the UK and European Head Office in Ossett. The standard working hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility and willingness to travel overseas are necessary.

Remuneration and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £33,000 to £35,000 per year, along with various benefits, including company events, company pension, enhanced maternity leave, enhanced paternity leave, on-site parking, and a referral program.
